About me
I am an organist and church musician.
I specialize in the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and earlier composers, approaching this extraordinary music from a historically informed perspective. By playing this early music on sensitive mechanical action instruments, I work to share the sounds and sensibilities of the past with modern audiences.
I have performed as a featured recitalist at conventions of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), the National Pastoral Musicians Association (NPM), and the Association of Anglican musicians (AAM). My performances have also been featured on the nationally syndicated Minnesota Public Radio show Pipedreams.
In 2025 I was a finalist in the International Paul Hofhaimer Organ Competition in Innsbruck, Austria, where I played historic organs from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, including the monumental Ebert organ of the Imperial Court Chapel.
I am a graduate of Stanford University (B.A). and the Eastman School of Music (M.M.). My major teachers include Dr. Robert Huw Morgan, David Higgs, and Christian Lane (organ), and Elaine Thornburgh (harpsichord). Other important influences include William Porter and John Chappell Stowe.
Between college and graduate school I served as the inaugural Association of Anglican Musicians Gerre Hancock Internship, working as organ scholar at Trinity Church in the City of Boston.
Presently I work at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Annandale, VA, where I am best friends with the church cat, Clark.
